Interviews

Personal interviews are recommended but not required for first-year applicants. On-campus interviews are generally available for high-school seniors Monday through Friday from June through mid-December. Saturday interviews are available during the fall semester only. Please click here for more information.

Alumnae interviews are available to students who are unable to visit campus
and interview with an admissions staff member. We ask that students who reside within the New York metropolitan area arrange for an on-campus interview.

While we make every effort to accommodate all interview requests, not all students will have the opportunity to meet with an alumna. Students who do not live within convenient driving distance of an alumna may be offered a telephone interview. Please note that interviews are not a required part of the Barnard application.

Please note that we are not taking alumna interview requests at this time. You may request an interview in early September.

If you reside outside the United States and will be visiting campus please contact Laura Kaub.

Early Decision

Students who have selected Barnard as their first-choice college may apply for Early Decision. Students admitted under the Early Decision plan must submit a non-refundable deposit and are obligated to attend Barnard College. The Committee on Admissions may choose to postpone the decision on an Early Decision application until the spring. In that event, the candidate will be asked to submit a record of her school work from the first half of her senior year for further review.
Early Admission

Early Admission allows exceptional high school students the opportunity to be admitted to Barnard in advance of their regular graduation date. Students who apply to Barnard through the Early Admission Program must demonstrate that they are academically and emotionally prepared for the rigors of college.
