Guide to Searching for

To search Columbia University Libraries online catalogue for descriptions of the approximately 100 record groups in the Barnard Archives, log onto CLIO at http://clio.cul.columbia.edu/

This catalogue is linked to all Columbia University Libraries. To limit your search to the holdings of the Barnard Archives, scroll under Quick Limit (located underneath the Search bar) and select "Archival Collections."

Then select "Subject Heading" under Choose Search Type, and type "Barnard College" in quotes in the Search bar and press the search button.

For more precise searches, enter the desired word or phrase in the Search bar after selecting "Title", "Keyword", "Author", or "Subject" under Choose Search Type.

Another strategy is to limit your search to archival items located at Barnard College. Go to the right-hand side where the Pre-set Limits button is located. Choose "Barnard College" as the Library Location. Go back to the main search page and follow the above steps.
