If we suspect that Barnard email sent to a specific ISP is being rejected, we need following information to assist in the investigation:
Barnard email user name
Sample of the "Undelivered mail" notice sent back to the user by the ISP
Name, department, phone number, URL and email address of the Technical staff at the ISP (if known).
Copies of any correspondence between the Barnard user and the ISP
Dates of failure to deliver emails.
Please send the above information to help@barnard.edu with the subject line "Possible Black List"
Notes:
Internet Service Providers (ISPs) occasionally block mail from a specific domain (e.g. barnard.edu) as the result of receiving a number of spam emails from that domain. This block may automatically expire in 72 hours. We suggest you try to resend the message on another day before requesting this investigation.
We will take appropriate actions to be removed from a black list, but we cannot control the actions of this outside service.
