Description
Jews for Racial & Economic Justice (JFREJ) was founded in 1990 as a strong, progressive Jewish voice to respond to the increasing level of racial and ethnic tension, violence and economic disparities in New York City. JFREJ provides an opportunity for all Jews (young and old - secular and religious - lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and straight) to shape a collective Jewish response to racial and economic injustice, and to work with our neighbors to end hatred and injustice. JFREJ uses a combined strategy of education, community organizing and media activism to bring these values into the debates over the city's future.
