The College Activities Office embraces the
educational mission of Barnard College as an independent
liberal arts college for women in New York City, in
part-nership with Columbia University. Using a holistic,
student-centered approach in advising, programming, and
community development, our team strives to engage each
student. Guided by a social justice framework, we promote
active and involved citizenship through multicultural
education and identity and leadership development.
The objectives of the College Activities Office are to assist our students in developing:

Self-awareness and self-esteem, leading towards self-actualization.

The skills to build and maneuver systems and networks.

An understanding of the change process and how to influence change.

An understanding of diversity, identity, and community.

A sense of responsibility, accountability, and citizenship.
