disability

This spring's Scholar and Feminist Conference brings together academics, activists, and professionals working among vulnerable populations. They will explore the concept of vulnerability as a fundamental and universal characteristic of the human condition.

An exploration through dance, film and dialogue of the ways in which feminist and disability activism, cultural production, politics and scholarship interact to produce new understandings.

A week and a day: one more full week of classes plus one last class day on Mon 5/2 and the SP'11 term officially ends — with finals beginning on Fri 5/6 and running through Thu 5/12. Thanks to all of you who stopped by ODS to talk with Susan L about your TAFs by the deadline of Fri 4/22 — and please note that as per the email reminders sent to all students — as of now you will need to make any and all finals arrangements with your professors. Best of luck from all of us on your course-studying, paper-writing and test-taking — and don't forget to take some deep yoga cleansing breaths on a regular basis throughout the coming weeks!

Happy April Fools' Day to all of you! As if we haven't already had enough winter weather to last a lifetime — we're now in what is being termed the "April Fools’ Day Storm — although NYC is being spared and our friends in upstate and New England are getting anywhere from 4-10 inches. We're now in the true home-stretch of the SP'11 term — so there's lots of info to share in this newsletter as well as in our upcoming May issue. As you proceed with the completion of all of your work, please remember to take care of yourself, get some quality rest and relaxation, take a walk and a deep yoga cleansing breath — and remember to nourish your mind/body connection!

Happy almost-Spring as we are about to enter the annual Room Selection process — as well as midterms season as you also prepare for Spring Break, which is March 14-18. ODS will be open throughout spring break if you need us for any reason — and we wish all of you the best as you prepare for midterms. Here's hoping that you will have a restful and restorative spring break!
