Due to the storm, Barnard College closed at 4pm Friday, for non-essential personnel. “Essential personnel" include staff in Facilities, Public Safety and Residence Halls.
Friday evening and weekend classes are cancelled but events are going forward as planned unless otherwise noted. The Athena Film Festival programs are also scheduled to go forward as planned but please check http://athenafilmfestival.com/ for the latest information.
The Barnard Library and Archives closed at 4pm Friday and will remain closed on Saturday, Feb. 9. The Library will resume regular hours on Sunday opening at 10am.

Jose Obando discusses the rich cultural influence that Africa, Europe, and indigenous populations have on Caribbean Islands and the rhythms and melodies distinctive to the region.

Choreographer Elizabeth Streb and dance critic Nancy Dalva discuss formalism versus formality, the calculus of risk, and the peril of metaphor.

Barnard and Columbia dancers perform global, classical and contemporary works.

Created and discussed by Jawole Willa Jo Zollar and Nora Chipaumire and performed by men and women of all ages from around the world, visible is a work that explores epic journeys, myths, dreams, and memories of both the known world and an imagined future in an unknown land.
