Weather Update

Due to the storm, Barnard College closed at 4pm Friday, for non-essential personnel. “Essential personnel" include staff in Facilities, Public Safety and Residence Halls.  

Friday evening and weekend classes are cancelled but events are going forward as planned unless otherwise noted. The Athena Film Festival programs are also scheduled to go forward as planned but please check http://athenafilmfestival.com/ for the latest information. 

The Barnard Library and Archives closed at 4pm Friday and will remain closed on Saturday, Feb. 9.  The Library will resume regular hours on Sunday opening at 10am.  

Please be advised that due to the conditions, certain entrances to campus may be closed.  The main gate at 117th Street & Broadway will remain open.  For further updates on college operations, please check this website, call the College Emergency Information Line 212-854-1002 or check AM radio station 1010WINS.

There’s a war in heaven, God is dying, and he’s taking the universe with him: this is the premise of José Rivera’s 1993 Obie-Award winning play.

Professor Helene Foley of Barnard's department of Classics and Ancient Studies, explores the ways in which Julie Ward Howe reimagines this famous Greek tragedy.

The one-man play, written and performed by David Greenspan, explores the non-artist's take on categorizing, dissecting, and defining art for the rest of us.

This powerhouse panel kicks off New Plays at Barnard, a premiere initiative partnering the Theatre Department with a downtown theatre company to develop and produce a new work by an emerging playwright.

In the second installment of the Theatre Thesis Festival, senior playwrights present their new plays in staged readings and senior theatre majors perform original solo works.

A comedic look at a true story: the consequences of a queen’s affair with an African servant in the court of the Sun King. Written by award-winning playwright Lynn Nottage and directed by guest artist Daniela Varon, a longtime member of Shakespeare & Company.

Current members of the Barnard Creative Writing faculty read from their work, including poetry, prose and drama.
