Weather Update

Due to the storm, Barnard College closed at 4pm Friday, for non-essential personnel. “Essential personnel" include staff in Facilities, Public Safety and Residence Halls.  

Friday evening and weekend classes are cancelled but events are going forward as planned unless otherwise noted. The Athena Film Festival programs are also scheduled to go forward as planned but please check http://athenafilmfestival.com/ for the latest information. 

The Barnard Library and Archives closed at 4pm Friday and will remain closed on Saturday, Feb. 9.  The Library will resume regular hours on Sunday opening at 10am.  

Please be advised that due to the conditions, certain entrances to campus may be closed.  The main gate at 117th Street & Broadway will remain open.  For further updates on college operations, please check this website, call the College Emergency Information Line 212-854-1002 or check AM radio station 1010WINS.

Barnard Career Fairs

During the fall and spring semesters, career fairs at Barnard College give employers from all industries a unique and convenient opportunity to meet with motivated and interested students and alumnae. The fair affords students the opportunity to gather information about career options within many organizations and across industries as well as seek out internship and full-time employment opportunities. Over 10,000 women and men undergraduate students are invited to the career fair. Attending the career fair is an excellent way for organizations to gain visibility on campus and maximize recruiting potential at Barnard College.

During our most recent Career Fair we had 86 employers and 1,500 students from Barnard and the other undergraduate colleges within Columbia University attend.

The next Barnard Career Fair will be held on Friday, September 6, 2013 from 11am-3pm in Lefrak Gymnasium, Barnard Hall.  Employer registration will open in June.

*Employers registering for the fair who are new to Barnard’s NACElink employer management system will be asked to create a profile. Once you have submitted your profile, within one business day you will receive an email granting you access to NACElink, where you can complete your registration for the Career Fair.

Registration Includes

  • Two representatives
  • Space at a rectangular table 6’x 30” plus a Blue or White Linen Cloth
  • Two Name Tags and One Name Tent
  • Light Lunch & Refreshments
  • Career Fair e-Brochure (on-line listing of participating employers)

Please Note: If more than two representatives are in attendance you will incur a $50.00 charge for each additional representative.  

Cancellation Policy: Cancellation within 24 hours of the start of the fair will incur a $50 charge to the employer organization. Failure of all representatives from a confirmed registered organization to attend will also incur a $50 charge. 

We ask that shipping displays, literature, and give-aways for the Career Fair arrive no later than one week prior to the event date.  If you cannot ship materials to reach Barnard College one week prior to the event date then we recommend that you bring the materials with you. Please clearly mark displays and boxes with the label “Barnard Job & Internship Career Fair” as well as the name of your organization.  We use the information marked on the outside of your package to ensure that materials are delivered to the correct table location at the career fair.

Attendees are responsible for shipping your organization’s displays and materials back to your offices.  Please bring the necessary shipping forms with you; these forms must include the weight of shipment and your account number.
