Con Edison, which has provided electric service in most of New York City and Westchester County for more than 180 years, has been instrumental in providing much needed scholarship support for promising young women at Barnard College. Con Edison is committed to supporting women who are seeking careers in the sciences. This summer internship program sponsors internships or research experiences in the following fields:
- Engineering
- Environmental Science
- Computer Science
- Physical Chemistry
- Physics
- Mathematics
- Education (Math and Science)
A secure internship in NOT necessary to apply, however the research/internship experience must be a full time position (30+ hours) lasting for a minimum of 8 weeks and must take place in one of the following regions:
- New York City
- Westchester County
Students typically receive a stipend of $4200 with access to college-subsidized housing and will engage in regular meetings/activities during the summer. The application process for this program occurs in the spring semester.
