Due to the storm, Barnard College closed at 4pm Friday, for non-essential personnel. “Essential personnel" include staff in Facilities, Public Safety and Residence Halls.
Friday evening and weekend classes are cancelled but events are going forward as planned unless otherwise noted. The Athena Film Festival programs are also scheduled to go forward as planned but please check http://athenafilmfestival.com/ for the latest information.
The Barnard Library and Archives closed at 4pm Friday and will remain closed on Saturday, Feb. 9. The Library will resume regular hours on Sunday opening at 10am.
Please be advised that due to the conditions, certain entrances to campus may be closed. The main gate at 117th Street & Broadway will remain open. Con Edison, which has provided electric service in most of New York City and Westchester County for more than 180 years, has been instrumental in providing much needed scholarship support for promising young women at Barnard College. Con Edison is committed to supporting women who are seeking careers in the sciences. This summer internship program sponsors internships or research experiences in the following fields:
A secure internship in NOT necessary to apply, however the research/internship experience must be a full time position (30+ hours) lasting for a minimum of 8 weeks and must take place in one of the following regions:
Students typically receive a stipend of $4200 with access to college-subsidized housing and will engage in regular meetings/activities during the summer. The application process for this program occurs in the spring semester.
