Anonymous Online Depression Symptoms Quiz
To find out if you have symptoms of depression you can take this free, anonymous depression-screening
quiz. Screening tests, such as this one, are not intended to provide a diagnosis for
clinical depression. But it may help identify any depressive symptoms and determine
whether a further evaluation by a mental health professional is necessary. As with any other
illness, you should seek professional mental health and/or medical attention if you think
you might have symptoms of depression. More than 80 percent of people with depression
improve with treatment.

Relaxation Exercises
If you are looking for a way to relax, take a look online. The counseling center at Hobart & William Smith
College has formulated some relaxation exercises that may be accessed
here.
Step-by-step instructions and mp3 exercises are provided.
Self-Help Guides
We have a list of books that have
information regarding common issues, including stress, depression,
perfectionism, procrastination and self-identity, to name a few.
Virtual Brochures
We are in the process of
writing a collection of brochures that will address topics that students frequently have
questions about. At this time, we present you our modest collection of
brochures! As we complete others, we will be adding them to this site -- and if you
have a suggestion for a brochure topic, let us know. We hope you find this
information helpful, but remember, self-help materials can provide only general
information and guidance. If you're concerned about how one of these issues is
affecting your life, visit us in the Furman Counseling Center to talk it over.
