For more than a century, Barnard College has educated women leaders in medicine, public health, engineering and scientific research. To recognize Barnard’s importance in these fields and support renewed efforts to encourage women to pursue careers in science, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation has offered the College a one-to-three matching grant, with a potential of $12 million in new funding—for faculty support, curriculum development, and capital improvements—that will transform the face of science education at Barnard. To qualify for the entire match, Barnard must raise $9 million for chemistry, environmental science, and biology.
This opportunity is as immediate as it is urgent: all funding must be received no later than March 1, 2013.

For more information on how you can help meet the Mellon Challenge, call us at (212) 854-2001, or e-mail development@barnard.edu.
