Weather Update
Due to the storm, Barnard College closed at 4pm Friday, for non-essential personnel. “Essential personnel" include staff in Facilities, Public Safety and Residence Halls.
Friday evening and weekend classes are cancelled but events are going forward as planned unless otherwise noted. The Athena Film Festival programs are also scheduled to go forward as planned but please check http://athenafilmfestival.com/ for the latest information.
The Barnard Library and Archives closed at 4pm Friday and will remain closed on Saturday, Feb. 9. The Library will resume regular hours on Sunday opening at 10am.
Please be advised that due to the conditions, certain entrances to campus may be closed. The main gate at 117th Street & Broadway will remain open. Support Educational Distinction Across Generations
Dedicated scholars, each highly distinguished in her or his respective field, Barnard faculty members are at the same time outstanding teachers and mentors who consistently demand rigor and creativity from their students. Supporting Barnard’s faculty by establishing an endowed professorship is one of the most important and gratifying ways that donors sustain the promise and legacy of Barnard.
Endowed Named Professorship: $2 million
Yields approximately $100,000 annually to help defray the costs of salary and benefits for a senior professor and to provide research support.
Visiting Professorships: $1.5 million
Yields approximately $75,000 annually to defray costs of transportation, housing, and stipend for a visiting scholar to spend a term at Barnard.
