Due to the storm, Barnard College closed at 4pm Friday, for non-essential personnel. “Essential personnel" include staff in Facilities, Public Safety and Residence Halls.
Friday evening and weekend classes are cancelled but events are going forward as planned unless otherwise noted. The Athena Film Festival programs are also scheduled to go forward as planned but please check http://athenafilmfestival.com/ for the latest information.
The Barnard Library and Archives closed at 4pm Friday and will remain closed on Saturday, Feb. 9. The Library will resume regular hours on Sunday opening at 10am.
Please be advised that due to the conditions, certain entrances to campus may be closed. The main gate at 117th Street & Broadway will remain open. The notion of "academic pursuit" can become literal when Barnard students begin their senior theses or independent study projects. Named travel grants and fellowships open doors for students to conduct research in museums, libraries, medical clinics, archeological digs, and other venues near and far. These grants help students expand horizons and build confidence while reinforcing academic excellence.
Yields annual grants of approximately $10,000 per year, based on an annual endowment expenditure rate of 5 percent, for Barnard students to pursue opportunities abroad.
Yields annual grants of approximately $5,000 for students seeking internships during the academic year or for 10 weeks in the summer.
Annual donations of $10,000 over a five-year period will benefit one or more students.
