Bequests for Barnard – Leaving A Legacy

Including Barnard in your estate plans, whether through your will, trust, retirement plan or life insurance policy, allows you to create a powerful personal legacy at Barnard. Bequests, gifts that come at the donor’s death, help Barnard continue its long tradition of excellence.

Through your will, trust, and other estate planning documents, you have the opportunity to provide for all those close to you—your family and friends, of course, but also the charities that are important to you. By supporting Barnard’s future through a bequest, you demonstrate your financial commitment and your belief in Barnard’s mission.

Sample bequest language:

I give [______ % of my residuary estate] / [$_______] to Barnard College, 3009 Broadway, New York, New York 10027.

It is possible to designate a specific purpose for your bequest, but please remember that the needs of the College change over time. We encourage you to discuss your wishes with us and request that any specific purpose be stated as a preference, with the final determination left to the discretion of the Trustees of the College.
