International students from all over the world comprise a vibrant and integral part of the Barnard community. Dean Ani Bournoutian, the international student adviser, is available to guide them in regard to their status as international students in the United States.
Every fall, the entering class of international students participates in orientation activities focused on their particular needs in order to assist their transition to student life in the United States. Throughout the academic year, there is programming on topics such as maintaining F-1 student status, on-campus jobs and internships, and work after graduating from Barnard. On-campus student organizations, such as the Multicultural and International Students Association (MISA) and the Barnard International Group (BIG), help support international students’ integration into the larger Barnard community.
