Due to the storm, Barnard College closed at 4pm Friday, for non-essential personnel. “Essential personnel" include staff in Facilities, Public Safety and Residence Halls.
Friday evening and weekend classes are cancelled but events are going forward as planned unless otherwise noted. The Athena Film Festival programs are also scheduled to go forward as planned but please check http://athenafilmfestival.com/ for the latest information.
The Barnard Library and Archives closed at 4pm Friday and will remain closed on Saturday, Feb. 9. The Library will resume regular hours on Sunday opening at 10am.
Please be advised that due to the conditions, certain entrances to campus may be closed. The main gate at 117th Street & Broadway will remain open. Barnard graduates who wish to enroll as post-baccalaureate students should see Dean Ani Bournoutian, the Director of Post-Baccalaureate Study, no later than August 15 for fall semester courses and November 15 for spring semester courses. Women graduates of current and former Seven Sister schools should write to Dean Bournoutian by June 1 for fall admission and by October 1 for spring admission. In the letter, non-Barnard grads should outline their goals and should include a transcript of their undergraduate record, as well as two letters of recommendation from a dean and/or instructors from their previous college. At the initial meeting with all candidates, Dean Bournoutian, in addition to discussing the candidate's goals and preparation, will review relevant policies and procedures, which include the following:
PB’s are also encouraged to speak with the Director about any issues related to their studies at Barnard: course selection, academic policies and procedures, fees, financial aid, etc.
