COURSE EVALUATION CREATION USING COURSEWORKS

CourseWorks provides an easy interface for creating course evaluations. One must decide on the content of their evaluations but do not have to deal with layout beyond a simple "click to choose" system.

CREATE THE EVALUATION



To begin, click CREATE EVAL from the list of options at the top of the page. If other evaluations have already been created, they will be listed below.

The following page will be displayed. [Text has been added below as an example. Release, due, and closing dates for the evaluation must be entered, and instructors may choose to make the evaluation a requirement for all students.]


 

After clicking on CREATE EVALUATION, the next step will be to add and edit the different parts of your evaluation.

First Add sections

After you create one or more sections, you must ADD ITEMS to each section:

The following page will enable you to specify what type of questions a particular section will have. A drop-down menu will allow you to choose various types of multiple-choice response scales.

*Please note that how you phrase your evaluation questions/comments will depend on the type of response scale you use. Below are the types of response scales available now.

You will then be prompted to add content to the items you specified:

After you have completed a section, you may continue to add new sections, add additional items to your sections, or view your completely evaluation by clicking on "Finish Modifying Evaluation."

OTHER MENU BAR OPTIONS

At any time, you may click on EDIT EVAL in the menu bar to see a list of your current evaluations and choose to edit or add content or the evaluation preferences, or even delete an entire evaluation.


You must also at some point ASSIGN the evaluation to your students or other instructors. Choose the appropriate evaluation from the list (you may only have one listed), and specify who to send it to and for which semester. Click on "Assign Evaluation." Note that you cannot assign an evaluation once its start date has passed.

Click continue:

Clicking on REPORTS/DATA will enable you to see which students have yet to submit an evaluation, view graphs that show the distribution of students' responses, and download report data in the form of an Excel spreadsheet.

The EMAIL page allows you to send announcements or reminders about each evaluation you create to the students in your courses.
