TECH TALKS

Join us for informal presentations and discussion on diverse technology topics. Held in Lehman 201. Soda, juice, and cookies will be provided; you are welcome to bring your lunch.

See how to resize, crop, and touch up photos or other images using free, easy-to-use web programs like Picnik.com and Photoshop.com, or using free programs like Picasa.

DOODLE & TWITTER

Doodle is a free and easy-to-use web-based program that helps you find meeting times based on the schedule and preferences of the attendees. Twitter is a social networking and "micro-blogging" tool that is in the news a lot, and is being used by some Barnard departments. Come find out what everyone is tweeting about.

Introduction to CourseWorks, the course management system at Barnard; how to login, access your courses, post syllabi and assignments, and send email to class members.

Are you thinking of expanding your use of CourseWorks? We will cover discussion forums and tests/quizzes in this session, and answer any questions about other features.

GET STARTED WITH COURSE-RELATED WIKIS

A wiki is a collaborative program that enables the shared creation and editing of any number of interlinked Web pages. This session will demonstrate the basics of a wiki, and introduce Columbia WikiSpaces, a resource for academic courses.
