Final Examination -- will contain a choice of essay questions; you will be required to write on six novels (one of these must be either Dickens, Eliot, or Tolstoy.)
Term Paper -- 8 pages, typed. due Dec, 2

INCOMPLETES WILL ONLY BE GRANTED IN CASES OF DIRE EMERGENCY. 

Auditors must request permission. No tape cassettes, please.

More tapes may become available in the course of the semester.

There are many other adaptations of these novels that may be shown in the city during our course. If you know about such showings, please let the class know.

You may refer to these films in your papers, but the focus of the term paper must be the written novel.
