Women Poets at Barnard

Women Poets at Barnard is a distinguished event series that has offered free, public readings at Barnard College by both emerging and established poets for over twenty years. This year's guests include Adrienne Rich, Antjie Krog, Katha Pollitt, Evie Shockley, Rachel Wetzsteon, Meena Alexander, Mary Jo Bang, and Mónica de la Torre.

In 2003, Barnard College, in collaboration with W. W. Norton & Company, established an award to publish a woman poet’s second collection as part of the Women Poets at Barnard program.  Now held biennially, the next round of submissions are scheduled to be accepted in the fall of 2010.
