Barnard Dances at Miller

Friday, April 12 - Saturday, April 13, 2013
2 PM (Saturday) & 7 PM
Miller Theater, 2960 Broadway

Cutting-edge choreographers premiere new works made specifically for Barnard/Columbia dancers during a semester-long creative process. The performance includes works by Faye Driscoll, whose work “goes straight for the social jugular [and is] both violent and cathartic”; Francesca Harper, who “explores the internal struggles…including personal rage, social consciousness, and the line between commercial art and true artistic expression”; Heidi Henderson, whose choreography charts the point where “the neatness of minimalist art meets the messiness of life”; and Bill Young, in whose “daring, eccentric [work]…the sensuality, the tenderness, the sense of adventure seem intrinsic to the moment and anchored to life.”
