Congressional Internships Information Session

Thursday, November 8, 2012
3PM to 5PM
Lerner Hall, Broadway Room

Columbia University's Office of Government & Community Affairs invites you to a reception and information session in Lerner Hall's Broadway Room on Thursday, November 8, 2012 from 3:00pm - 5:00pm on congressional and other summer internship opportunities in Washington D.C.!

The session will include an overview of available resources as well as timelines for application.  The event will also serve as an opportunity to meet and network with past participants and Columbia’s government relations staff.  Refreshments and hors d' oeuvres will be served.

An internship in a congressional office or other government organization provides an excellent opportunity for you to gain valuable knowledge and exposure to the many facets of government, from constituent relations to the procedure, politics and policy of the nation's capital. In the past, Columbia students have worked for senators and representatives from both parties, both in D.C. and at local offices.  Others have found summer positions with various federal departments and agencies, not-for-profit organizations and think tanks. And a select few have won coveted internships in the various offices of the White House.

Please RSVP to Kevin Brannon at kb2332@columbia.edu.
