Since taking office in 1999, Speaker of the New York City Council Christine Quinn has been a tireless champion for marriage equality, affordable housing, early childhood education, working families, small businesses, energy efficiency, and access to healthy foods, to name just some of her many efforts. As the first openly gay speaker, she has focused extensively on issues of justice and equality, and more specifically, has been a fierce advocate for LGBT rights. During her tenure, she has become known for responding to the needs of New Yorkers with transparency and accountability, and for finding creative solutions to the problems at hand. Join Speaker Quinn for a conversation that is certain to shed light on the future of our city.
