Weather Update

Due to the storm, Barnard College closed at 4pm Friday, for non-essential personnel. “Essential personnel" include staff in Facilities, Public Safety and Residence Halls.  

Friday evening and weekend classes are cancelled but events are going forward as planned unless otherwise noted. The Athena Film Festival programs are also scheduled to go forward as planned but please check http://athenafilmfestival.com/ for the latest information. 

The Barnard Library and Archives closed at 4pm Friday and will remain closed on Saturday, Feb. 9.  The Library will resume regular hours on Sunday opening at 10am.  

Please be advised that due to the conditions, certain entrances to campus may be closed.  The main gate at 117th Street & Broadway will remain open.  For further updates on college operations, please check this website, call the College Emergency Information Line 212-854-1002 or check AM radio station 1010WINS.

Experience City Year Shadow Day

ATTIRE: Business casual, with comfortable shoes for walking.

- Meet current corps members, staff, and other students interested in making a difference with City Year
 
- Learn about how to get involved with City Year as a college student or after graduation
 
- Optional opportunity to witness a City Year team in action at a local school
 
- Graduating students who apply to City Year may be eligible for an in person interview on day of site visit
 
12pm-1pm
 
Students will be provided with light refreshments as they receive an introduction to City Year. Students will have the opportunity to learn about City Year’s work addressing the national dropout crisis in public schools.
 
1pm-2pm
 
Students will engage in a Leadership Workshop that City Year trains our corps members in, discussing various work styles and how they affect team dynamics.
 
2pm-5pm
 
City Year staff will escort students on public transportation out into the field. Students will meet a current City Year team and observe their after school service with children. Students are responsible for their own public transportation cost and will be dismissed from the field.
