Weather Update

Due to the storm, Barnard College closed at 4pm Friday, for non-essential personnel. “Essential personnel" include staff in Facilities, Public Safety and Residence Halls.  

Friday evening and weekend classes are cancelled but events are going forward as planned unless otherwise noted. The Athena Film Festival programs are also scheduled to go forward as planned but please check http://athenafilmfestival.com/ for the latest information. 

The Barnard Library and Archives closed at 4pm Friday and will remain closed on Saturday, Feb. 9.  The Library will resume regular hours on Sunday opening at 10am.  

Please be advised that due to the conditions, certain entrances to campus may be closed.  The main gate at 117th Street & Broadway will remain open.  For further updates on college operations, please check this website, call the College Emergency Information Line 212-854-1002 or check AM radio station 1010WINS.

Fall 2012 Alumnae and Donor Sponsored Internship Grant Program Application Deadline

Barnard College offers funding for unpaid internships through the Alumnae and Donor Sponsored Internship Grant Program.  The maximum award is $800 for a fall internship and students in the classes of 2013, 2014, and 2015 are eligible to apply.  The online grant application is available HERE.  The application deadline is Sunday, September 23, 2012, at 11:59PM.  NO late or incomplete applications will be accepted.

Grantees are expected to have secured internships by the application date.  Additional requirements include participating in an online discussion community and attending professional development events.

Workshops are offered prior to the application deadline to review the entire application process as well as the do’s and don’ts of writing an effective grant application:

  • Tuesday, September 18th: 11am to 12pm
  • Wednesday, September 19th: 2pm to 3pm
  • Thursday, September 20th: 12pm to 1pm
  • Friday, September 21st: 10am to 11am
