Due to the storm, Barnard College will close at 4pm today, for non-essential personnel. “Essential personnel" include staff in Facilities, Public Safety and Residence Halls.
Friday evening and weekend classes are cancelled but events are going forward as planned unless otherwise noted. The Athena Film Festival programs are also scheduled to go forward as planned but please check http://athenafilmfestival.com/ for the latest information.
Please be advised that due to the conditions, certain entrances to campus may be closed. The main gate at 117th Street & Broadway will remain open. Editors Courtney Martin ’02 and Vanessa Valenti present the latest New Feminist Solutions report, which details the development of a robust network of online feminist activism. Inspired by the activism happening online but discouraged by high burnout rates and a lack of compensation, Martin and Valenti turned to a diverse group of activists, educators, and writers to investigate potential opportunities for sustainability in the digital world. Working with BCRW, they make the convincing case that online activity is essential to the continuation of broad-based feminist movements, and offer a variety of options for helping this critical ecosystem to thrive.
