Applications for the Spring 2014 semester Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship are due at 11:59 p.m. The Gilman Scholarship Program’s mission is to diversify the kinds of students who study and intern abroad and the countries and regions where they go. Through the sponsorship of the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), the Gilman Program offers over 2,000 scholarships of up to $5,000 for U.S. undergraduate students of high financial need.
To be eligible for a Gilman Scholarship, an applicant must be a U.S. citizen, enrolled at a U.S. institution of higher education, receiving the Federal Pell Grant at the time of application or during term abroad, applying to a study abroad program for academic credit in a country not currently under a U.S. Department of State Travel Warning or Cuba, and abroad for a minimum of four weeks and a maximum of an academic year..
