A Life Extra Ordinary is the story of Annabel Anderson McCafferty—a high school cheerleader, a daughter, a wife, and an expectant mother who goes missing from her small Ohio town on Christmas Eve in 2004, and never returns. Both a mystery, and a memory play, A Life Extra Ordinary pulls apart and then puts back together the mundane, heartbreaking, horrifying, and beautifully exquisite moments that make up the story of a life.
Melissa Ross’ plays include Crazy Little Thing, For Dear Life, Thinner Than Water, A Life Extra Ordinary, Do Something Pretty and You Are Here. Thinner Than Water was produced by Labyrinth Theater Company in 2010 and is included in the anthology “New Playwrights: Best Plays of 2011” by Smith and Kraus. She has received readings and workshops at 24Seven Lab, The Cherry Lane Theater, Dorset Theater Festival, Electric Pear Productions, The Juilliard School, Labyrinth Theater Company, Manhattan Theater Club, Montana Rep, Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, and The Pacific Playwrights Festival. She currently holds commissions from South Coast Repertory and Manhattan Theater Club. Melissa is a graduate of Bennington College, was a Lila Acheson Wallace Playwriting Fellow at The Juilliard School, a two-time recipient of the Le Comte Du Nouy Award, and a proud member of LAByrinth Theater Company.
