Weather Update

Due to the storm, Barnard College closed at 4pm Friday, for non-essential personnel. “Essential personnel" include staff in Facilities, Public Safety and Residence Halls.  

Friday evening and weekend classes are cancelled but events are going forward as planned unless otherwise noted. The Athena Film Festival programs are also scheduled to go forward as planned but please check http://athenafilmfestival.com/ for the latest information. 

The Barnard Library and Archives closed at 4pm Friday and will remain closed on Saturday, Feb. 9.  The Library will resume regular hours on Sunday opening at 10am.

Rockland Boulders Baseball Job And Internship Fair

The Rockland Boulders will be holding a job and internship fair on Saturday, January 14, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Provident Bank Park in Pomona, New York. Members of the Boulders front office will be accepting resumes and applications for spring and summer positions, as well as, holding short introductory interviews.
 
Positions for full time sales jobs include the Ticket Sales Manager, as well as, Account Executives for selling tickets and/ or corporate partnerships. Another key hire will be in the Public Relations Department with an emphasis on social media skills.
 
Seasonal positions, starting in May and continuing through September, include a dance team coordinator to recruit, choreograph and manage the Rockland Roll, the Boulders’ dance team. Dancers interested in being on the Rockland Roll are encouraged to attend the fair as well. Other seasonal jobs available include customer service representatives, parking lot attendants, ticket sellers, ticket takers, ushers, and concession workers.
 
“I really enjoy working with the Boulders,” said Danyel DeRosario, a 2011 seasonal employee who was promoted to a full time front office position in September. “It is a great family environment and I love coming to work.”
 
Internships available include game operations, special events, community relations, public relations, sales and marketing, graphic design and ticket operations. All internships are for credit or experience only.
 
“As a college student interning for the Boulders during their inaugural season was a great experience,” said Danielle Hamilla, a 2011 summer intern. “I was able to see first-hand how a sports organization worked.”
 
Interning with the Boulders, not only gives students the opportunity to learn the industry, but an inside track to begin their careers upon graduation within the organization. Three of the Boulders 2011 interns were hired following their internship and currently work as account executives and in the ticket operations department.
