To celebrate the renovation of the teaching and research laboratories on the 6th floor of Altschul Hall, the chemistry department hosts a symposium featuring presentations by Matthew Platz, director of the chemistry division of the National Science Foundation (NSF); Barnard President Debora Spar; and distinguished chemistry and biochemistry alumnae. Current Barnard chemistry and biochemistry students will also present their research, and tours of the new facilities will be offered. The renovation was made possible by a grant from the NSF, through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, and by Barnard College. A reception will close the festivities.
