Weather Update
Due to the storm, Barnard College closed at 4pm Friday, for non-essential personnel. “Essential personnel" include staff in Facilities, Public Safety and Residence Halls.
Friday evening and weekend classes are cancelled but events are going forward as planned unless otherwise noted. The Athena Film Festival programs are also scheduled to go forward as planned but please check http://athenafilmfestival.com/ for the latest information.
The Barnard Library and Archives closed at 4pm Friday and will remain closed on Saturday, Feb. 9. The Library will resume regular hours on Sunday opening at 10am.
Please be advised that due to the conditions, certain entrances to campus may be closed. The main gate at 117th Street & Broadway will remain open. Internship Description:
Value Retail (www.valueretail.com), located in Bicester (near Oxford, England), is a real estate development and retail management company operating in the UK and Europe. We specialize exclusively in the development management and operation of high-end outlet shopping Villages serving Europe's gateway cities. The intern will focus primarily on marketing or retail related projects, but job responsibilities will be fluid depending on the intern and the needs of the company at the time.
Schedule: Negotiable start date between May 21 and June 5, 2012, minimum duration of 8 weeks
Compensation: Stipend £250.00/week
Important: Non-EU citizen who accept an internship position in the United Kingdom are required by law to obtain a special work permit and visa. The fee for these mandatory documents is $695, and must be paid by the student. Student must also pay for their own travel to the UK.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess maturity and seriousness of purpose. Language skills such as French, Dutch, German, Spanish, or Italian are a big asset, but not required.
