Weather Update
Due to the storm, Barnard College closed at 4pm Friday, for non-essential personnel. “Essential personnel" include staff in Facilities, Public Safety and Residence Halls.
Friday evening and weekend classes are cancelled but events are going forward as planned unless otherwise noted. The Athena Film Festival programs are also scheduled to go forward as planned but please check http://athenafilmfestival.com/ for the latest information.
The Barnard Library and Archives closed at 4pm Friday and will remain closed on Saturday, Feb. 9. The Library will resume regular hours on Sunday opening at 10am.
Please be advised that due to the conditions, certain entrances to campus may be closed. The main gate at 117th Street & Broadway will remain open. Athena Collaborative Group is a non-profit focused on expanding possibilities for women in quantitative careers, and this telesummit will be a great way for you and your classmates to get the inside scoop about possible careers in Finance.
We'll be interviewing a slew of senior women in top firms in Front Office (Investment Banking, Sales, Trading, Research, Asset Management) and Technology roles - - to learn more about what they do, what it takes, why they love it, and how they got there.
They'll also be sharing tips about the best way to stand out/ be seriously considered for an internship at their firm.
This is meant for college women considering Finance who:
• would like to see more role models in this field,
• might have a major other than Finance and would like to know how to get in, or
• would like to learn more about what the careers are like from real people who are already successful in the industry.
Finance aficionados are welcome too and can use this to take their recruiting game to the next level.
The telesummit will run mid-September to mid-October -- just in time to set you up powerfully for on-campus visits in the Fall.
