Gail Archer

Gail Archer is Director of the Music Program at Barnard College and conductor of the Barnard-Columbia Chorus. Dr. Archer joined the faculty of Barnard in 1988. She is also a member of the faculty at Manhattan School of Music, and serves as college organist at Vassar College.

Dr. Archer is an internationally known concert organist, lecturer, and recording artist who performs throughout North America and Europe.

In response to Dr. Archer's second solo CD, A Mystic in the Making (Meyer Media, 2007), John Terauds of the Toronto Star wrote: "Gail Archer has become one of the world's few star concert organists. Here she tackles two technically and artistically demanding suites by Messiaen … Archer balances power, clarity and colour beautifully throughout…"
