Donlin Foreman

Associate Professor of Professional Practice in Dance

Donlin Foreman, Associate Professor of Professional Practice in Dance, joined the faculty of Barnard in 1996.

Former principal dancer for 20 years with the Martha Graham Dance Company, Professor Foreman has also performed with the Eliot Feld Company, the Jacques d'Amboise National Dance Institute, and La Scala Ballet.

He is Co-Artistic Director/Choreographer of Buglisi/Foreman Dance, a company that has presented its work at New York City's Joyce Theater. He has also staged his works for the New Jersey Ballet, Ice Theatre of New York, La Scala Ballet, and North Carolina Dance Theatre. He is a recipient of the Choo-San Goh Award for Choreography.

Professor Forman is also a published poet. His volume of poetic writings, Out of Martha's House, appeared in 1992. In addition, he has written articles for Dance Teacher and Dance Spirit magazines, and contributed to the Martha Graham issue of Choreography and Dance, an international journal.

Professor Foreman has served as a chair of the NYSCA Dance Panel.
