William Alan Gabbey

Ann Whitney Olin Professor of Philosophy

William Alan Gabbey, Ann Whitney Olin Professor of Philosophy, joined Barnard's faculty in 1992. He teaches such courses as "Early Modern Philosophy," "Philosophical Texts in French," and "What Is Philosophy?" He is also affiliated with Barnard's Medieval and Renaissance Studies Program.

Professor Gabbey serves on the editorial board of Archives Internationales d'Histoire des Idées and has been a consulting editor for Studies in History and Philosophy of Science.

He is a member of advisory committee for the History and Philosophy of Science Section of the New York Academy of Sciences.
