Fall 2008 FITbear Fitness Classes begin September 15th and end November 25th.
Drop-Off Registration takes place in Room 206 Barnard Hall beginning Monday, September 8th. Exact cash or check only.

Cardio Mix Pass: Includes aerobics, step and/or kickboxing with abs. Please wear athletic sneakers. $40

Yoga Pass: Includes traditional hatha yoga postures, breathing and meditation. Socks or barefeet.

FITbear LEARNING

Alexander Technique : Learn how to move with lightness, ease and freedom using verbal and hands-on cues to prevent unconscious habits of tension. 10 sessions total. FITbear Room.

Fitness Instructor Training: Learn how to teach Aerobics, Kickbox and Step including class design, cueing, choreography, and music. Contact Lmasone@barnard.edu for more information.

Aerial Fitness: Improve strength, flexibility and coordination while mastering new skills on static trapeze and aerial silks. Expect to spend a lot of time climbing and hanging upside down. Studio 2. Class size limited. No refunds. you must attend a Demo in order to register for the course. Please sign up for the free Demo in the Physical Educaiton Office.

Personal Training
Varies by day - stop by the Physical Education Department, 206 Barnard.

Registration for private sessions will begin September 8, 2008. To register, come to the Department of Physical Education, 206 Barnard Hall with Barnard/Columbia ID and payment (cash or check to Barnard College). Appointments must be scheduled in advance and in person. Call for additional information at 854-2085.

General Rules

  • You must be registered to participate.
  • You are not admitted more than 5 minutes late.
  • Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
  • Bring a plastic water bottle. No glass bottles please.
  • Bring your ID to all classes.
 
  • Classes/Programs open to Barnard students, faculty, staff, CC and SEAS undergrads, and BC Alum with a Sports Facility Pass.
  • Exact cash or check only. No refunds after Septermber 26. You must present your receipt to receive a refund. Enrollment is non-transferable.
  • No classes Oct. 31 - Nov 4, Election Day Break.
