The 7th Annual Stationary Bike-A-Thon
April 13, 2010 - starting at 10:00am in the LeFrak Gymnasium, Barnard Hall

On Tuesday, April 13th, 2010, we will ride again to raise awareness about the importance of cardiovascular health while raising money to circulate into the heart of our community. Each year dozens of community-based nonprofit organizations benefit from contributions to Columbia Community Service, Inc (CCS). Every dollar received goes directly to those individuals and families in our community served through a variety of health and service organizations located within walking distance of Columbia University.

Alexander Technique

The Alexander Technique teaches people to move with lightness, ease, and freedom. Unlike other movement disciplines, such as yoga or pilates, there are no exercises in the Alexander Technique. It deals with a more essential aspect of mvoing, the habitual way one responds when approaching any activity. Students learn to identify and prevent reactions of tensing and stiffening. they gain an ability to consciously direct their movement.
