To use mutual fund shares to make a gift to Barnard, please ask your mutual fund company to transfer your shares to a charitable pool and send a check to Barnard for the value. Please contact us before you initiate the transfer so we can ensure that you receive proper acknowledgment for tax purposes. Barnard no longer opens individual accounts for direct fund transfers.
