Friday evening and weekend classes are cancelled but events are going forward as planned unless otherwise noted. The Athena Film Festival programs are also scheduled to go forward as planned but please check http://athenafilmfestival.com/ for the latest information.
The Barnard Library and Archives closed at 4pm Friday and will remain closed on Saturday, Feb. 9. The Library will resume regular hours on Sunday opening at 10am.

The New York Coalition of One Hundred Black Women, Inc. has announced that Dean Avis Hinkson '84 will receive the Beacon Award for Outstanding Achievement in Education at the organization's Annual Founders Day Commemoration ceremony on Saturday, November 5th.
The Beacon Award is presented annually to individuals and entitiies that embody qualities demonstrated in their professional fields or community involvements that reveal what it truly means to lead by example, according to the organization's website. Dean Hinkson joins a list of outstanding Beacon Award recipients including last year’s awardees, Ms. Angela Guy, Senior Vice President, General Manager of Soft-Sheen Carson, a division of L'Oreal, USA and Dr. Danielle Moss-Lee, President and CEO of HEAF, Higher Education Activity Fund.
The Coalition of One Hundred Black Women was founded in 1970 in New York City. The New York Coalition of One Hundred Black Women is the founding chapter and over the past forty years has advocated on behalf of women and their families, and through our programs and activities has sought to improve the lives of women and girls.
