Weather Update

Due to the storm, Barnard College will close at 4pm today, for non-essential personnel. “Essential personnel" include staff in Facilities, Public Safety and Residence Halls.  

Friday evening and weekend classes are cancelled but events are going forward as planned unless otherwise noted. The Athena Film Festival programs are also scheduled to go forward as planned but please check http://athenafilmfestival.com/ for the latest information. 

Please be advised that due to the conditions, certain entrances to campus may be closed.  The main gate at 117th Street & Broadway will remain open.  For further updates on college operations, please check this website, call the College Emergency Information Line 212-854-1002 or check AM radio station 1010WINS.

On September 7, learn about on-campus jobs, internships and career opportunities

On Friday, September 7, Barnard’s Career Development office will host two events on campus. For students seeking part-time jobs, check out the Student Employment Fair. For students interested in career-oriented internships and jobs, register for the Job & Internship Career Fair. See below for more information on both events.

Student Employment Fair

The Student Employment Fair is an opportunity to find part-time work on campus or off campus. Employers from various academic and administrative departments at Barnard and Columbia as well as off-campus agencies will be on-site to share information about work study and non-work study positions. All Barnard students are welcome; resumes are not required. Stop by even if you can’t stay for long! Visit the Career Development website for more information on student employment opportunities.

Job & Internship Career Fair

For students looking for internships and seniors looking for post-graduation opportunities, attend the Job & Internship Career Fair. Drop-ins are welcome, but registration is recommended – students who register through FastTrack will get in more quickly to meet face-to-face with employers. A few tips for students attending the Jobs & Internship Career Fair:

- Dress in business professional attire (recommended)
- Bring several copies of your resume
- Research the employers you want to target in advance
