Due to the storm, Barnard College closed at 4pm Friday, for non-essential personnel. “Essential personnel" include staff in Facilities, Public Safety and Residence Halls.
Friday evening and weekend classes are cancelled but events are going forward as planned unless otherwise noted. The Athena Film Festival programs are also scheduled to go forward as planned but please check http://athenafilmfestival.com/ for the latest information.
The Barnard Library and Archives closed at 4pm Friday and will remain closed on Saturday, Feb. 9. The Library will resume regular hours on Sunday opening at 10am.
Please be advised that due to the conditions, certain entrances to campus may be closed. The main gate at 117th Street & Broadway will remain open. Martha Bakos Dietz '76, a trustee of Lutheran Medical Center, was presented with the Distinguished Trustee Award by the United Hospital Fund. During a ceremony held at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, Dietz along with 27 trustees from metropolitan area hospitals were recognized for their leadership, generosity, and extraordinary service to not-for-profit and municipal hospitals in New York City, New Jersey, and Long Island communities.
“The commitment of these trustees to the hospitals they serve makes them a vital force in our rapidly changing health care system,” said Fund President Jim Tallon. “They provide unique perspective, combining sensitivity to local needs, profound consideration of the patient experience, and a concern for quality and fiscal responsibility. We at the United Hospital Fund are pleased to have this opportunity to pay tribute to their exemplary efforts and contributions.”
