The Barnard Health Service will be open for administrative questions only during the summer from 9am to 4:30pm. Clinical care and the Clinician On-Call are not available during the summer, starting at 4pm on Friday, May 23rd. Clinical care will begin again at 8:30am on Tuesday, September 2nd.

During the summer, Barnard students have access to Health Services at Columbia for evaluation and treatment of acute illness only. This does not include medication refills or vaccinations. Please see www.health.columbia.edu for more information. You will be charged a fee of $60 which must be paid at the time of your visit. You can claim the $60 fee to your Student Insurance or family insurance (please note that to be reimbursed by Student Insurance you must be have purchased summer coverage). Make sure that the Health Services at CU provider gives you a receipt that contains all the codes for your visit (CPT & ICD-9), the Health Service Tax ID#, the provider's name and title and the date of your visit. Seniors, please pay any outstanding Health Service bills. Failure to do so will delay or prevent you from receiving your diploma or transcripts.

If you are going abroad this summer, make sure to look into your destination's health care policies before you go. Be sure to have enough of your prescriptions (in their original containers!) to last your trip.

Wear sunblock! Remember, hormonal birth control and some antibiotics can make your skin more sensitive to the sun.
