$20.49/hour regular rate - less wage progressions

Part-time 16 hours/week
12 months/year position
Saturday & Sunday 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm (2 openings
available)
Saturday & Sunday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

FUNCTION:
Under the supervision of officials responsible for
the coordination and accomplishments of plant housekeeping
operations or under direct supervision of employees in
higher classification, performs duties in accordance with
established standards and instruction.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to read, write and follow oral and written
instruction

Ability to do moderately heavy work
-
Some experience will be helpful but may not always be
required
-
On-the-job training is provided
*The start date for these two positions will be no earlier
than November 30, 2009.

BUILDING MECHANIC
Department: Building Maintenance & Repair
Rate:
$24.28/hour less 10% during probation
Shift: Full-time
40 hours/week 4:00 pm – 12:30 am Wednesday - Sunday

FUNCTION:
Under the supervision of Facilities Services
managers, the Mechanic performs the duties normally
associated with the structural trade of carpenter following
recognized journeyman procedures, means, methods and quality
performance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Trade or vocational school graduate or
graduate of a certified approved apprenticeship program
-
Five year’s minimum related work
experience
-
Proficient in all hand and power tools
and equipment common to the trade
-
Knowledge of wood types and their
characteristics, and uses of paints and stains
-
Ability to read diagrams, blueprints
and specifications
-
Able to communicate effectively both
verbally and in writing
-
Appropriate licenses or be able to
obtain same within three months of employment or
governmental requirement
-
Valid automobile drivers license
-
Physically fit to carry tools,
equipment and materials, work overhead on ladders, in
cramped and crowded spaces as well as during inclement
weather.
-
Candidates for this position must be
willing to work overtime and be available to do so on a
reasonable basis.
