FUNCTION:
The Administrative Assistant (half-time) will assist the
Program Director for Community & Diversity Initiatives.
The assistant performs all necessary clerical and
administrative tasks to coordinate the details of several
programs. This
individual will also perform other duties assigned and staff the
front desk as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Bachelor’s degree and 1 to 3 years’ related experience in an
office setting preferred, or 2 years of college and 3 to 5
years’ related office experience

Strong organizational and quantitative skills
-
Attention to detail
-
Good communication skills both written and verbal
-
Good interpersonal skills and interest in helping students
-
Demonstrated excellent database, spreadsheet and word
processing computer skills, as well as excellent and
accurate data entry skills

ACCESS ATTENDANTS
Department: Public Safety
Rate: $16.83/hour*
Shift(s): 9 months/year position
5:30 pm-1:30 am Sat & Sun
10:30 pm-6:30am Sat &Sun
Grade: 1

FUNCTION: Under the direction of Barnard
Public Safety, support campus safety and security functions and
assist with procedures designed to ensure the safety of the
Barnard community, Barnard residents in particular. The
principle function is to monitor and perform access control
measures of persons and materials at designated Barnard College
access/egress points.
QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma
-
Certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED
preferred
-
Knowledge of Access Control procedures and
instruments preferred
-
Ability to communicate effectively with the
college staff, students and the public including fluency in
English for the purpose of written and verbal communications
in emergency and non-emergency situations
-
Ability to work well under pressure and
remain calm in an emergency situation
-
Ability to follow written and oral
instructions
-
Ability to utilize security access control
systems
-
Submit to required annual background
investigation
-
Report all arrests and/or involvement in
litigation to the Director of Public Safety
