Campus housing is provided as part of the award. If damages are caused to the dorm assigned to our group, the bill for repairs will be split equally among all residents unless the person(s) responsible for the damages pay for repairs. If the Fellow doesn't want to live on campus, the Fellow is responsible for his/her housing costs (i.e., on-campus housing allowances are not transferable).

Travel funds may be available, if traveling to the program would pose financial hardship to the participant. Students wishing to be considered for a travel award should enclose a copy of their financial aid report, and a note explaining the need for funding.

Our program also has limited funds to help program participants attend scientific meetings, if presenting their SURE research. Participants can contact our office during the academic year to discuss these awards. Emory applicants are not eligible for travel support [i.e., funds to travel to campus] to attend the program but certainly are eligible for meeting-related support.
