Eligibility:

RFF offers summer internships for outstanding undergraduate and graduate students. Priority consideration is given to graduate students. The program is open to both U.S. and non-U.S. citizens. However, the latter must be enrolled at a U.S. university and have proper work and residency documentation. 

 

Candidates for all divisions should have outstanding policy analysis and strong writing skills and an interest in complex environmental policy problems amenable to interdisciplinary analysis. The ability to work without supervision in a careful and conscientious manner is essential.

Application deadline: March 1, 2007
Application Requirements: No application form is required. Students applying for the 2007 internship program should send an application package via e-mail to summerintern@rff.org by March 1, 2007 with:
  • a cover letter specifying project(s) of interest
  • a resume
  • a recent transcript (an unofficial copy is acceptable)
  • a brief writing sample (3-5 pages of a recent paper--excerpts are acceptable)

The cover letter should be as specific as possible regarding project(s) of interest--reason for the choice(s), related class work or experience, etc. In addition, please provide name, address, phone number, and e-mail information for two references. 

Compensation:

Students will earn a stipend ($375 per week for graduate students; $350 per week for undergraduates). Housing assistance is not provided.

Additional Notes: RFF will post a list of anticipated research projects for summer 2007 on the internship opportunities web page (www.rff.org) by mid-January. Students are urged to consult that listing before applying to determine if they have a suitable background for those areas. Applications will not be accepted prior to January 15, 2007.

Students will receive electronic notification of receipt of application materials. Candidates selected for a position will be notified by mid-April.
