FAQs

Trainees will be selected by a committee using the following criteria: GPA, number of relevant courses completed, previous research experience, letters of recommendation and an assessment of their motivation, drive and originality. A strong interest in obtaining an interdisciplinary education in biology and bioengineering will be a prerequisite for inclusion in the training program. Preference will be given to students who wish to do research in their cross-discipline (e.g. a student majoring in bioengineering who wants to do research in a biology lab), or who will be conducting research projects that necessitate their spending significant amounts of time in both bioengineering and biology labs. Students will typically participate during the summer following their second and/or third years and will be expected to continue their research during the following academic year(s) on a for-credit basis.
