Book Search Request

CLIO shows that a book is at Barnard Library and not checked out, but the book is not on the shelf?

Possibilities to consider:

  • It might be on reserve; check CLIO again.
  • The CLIO location might be Lehman; if so, go to the Lehman Library in the School of International Affairs on 118th Street (our CLIO location is Barnard).
  • The book might be on the return shelf on the second floor or on a shelving truck in Circulation/Reserve (first floor).
  • Someone might be using the book in the library; check the shelf again tomorrow in case it has been re-shelved.
  • Ask for help!  Talk to a librarian at the reference desk on the second floor.

Still can't find the book?  Fill in and submit this form to request a search.
If the book is found within the next two days, you will be notified immediately. 
Otherwise, you will receive an e-mail or a phone call in about ten days.
