Alias Creation Policy
Aliases are a core component of Barnard's e-mail infrastructure. Aliases are used when a department or student organization needs a specific e-mail address to receive information in multiple user inboxes. Aliases are not actual e-mail accounts; rather they are pointers (or redirectors) to existing e-mail addresses. Aliases are created on a case by case basis, depending on the needs of the requesting department.

All alias requests must be sent to the Help Desk at help@barnard.edu. Aliases will be created twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The aliases will become active within 24 hours. For example, an alias request sent on Monday will be created on Tuesday, and the alias will be active by Wednesday.
